The bottom line is that our church is specifically designed to be an encouragement for people who are uncomfortable with church, have been burned in the past, or have never been interested in institutionalized religion at all.
— Jeff Mikels (founding Pastor)
Church is one of the scariest places on earth for many people. If you are looking for a church, you might be thinking:
- Will I feel welcome?
- Will people pay any attention to me?
- Will people pay too much attention to me?
- Will there be anything for my kids?
- Will I have to do anything uncomfortable?
We want to calm your fears and answer your concerns.
Come Casually Real
If you have to put on a false face to go to church, then you aren’t really helping yourself or anyone else. We’re real people, and we hang out like real people. Wear jeans and T-shirts, wear preppy clothes or emo clothes, we don’t care. Come with ink on your arms, gauges in your ears, clean-shaven or stubbly, with makeup or without.
Just be yourself when you come, but be ready to be a little better when you leave.
Parking is Free
We have a great parking lot that is easily accessible from either direction on Veteran’s Memorial Parkway S. Or you can come in from 18th St by driving past the Pizza King!
Come 10 minutes early
We’ll have coffee, donuts, fresh fruit and/or some other snacks for you. People will be milling around and someone will say “Hi” but we won’t bug you or be annoying if you aren’t interested in talking. However, if you do want to talk to someone, our Welcome Team will be available wearing ID tags so you’ll know who to talk to. Also, if you get there a little early, you’ll have a good amount of time to register your kids and meet our Kidopolis workers for the day.
Bring the Kids
As a young church in rented facilities, we don’t have cool playgrounds or a bounce house (yet), but what we do have is a passionate desire to make sure your kids have lots of fun as they learn basic moral values from the teaching of the Bible. We also are deeply committed to the safety and security of your kids. Our volunteers are screened through an application process that includes a criminal background check, and all kids are checked in and checked out under some pretty strict guidelines.
Enjoy the Music
We love God. We think he is worth celebration, and we are honestly excited about how he is at work in our lives. We don’t do “funeral” songs. We do emotional music with profound but simple lyrics, and we love to sing those songs together. You don’t have to know the songs to enjoy them, though. The words are on the screen, and you can sing along if you want to. However, we think you’ll be encouraged simply by letting the words and the music wash over you each week.

Bring your Bible or use ours
We’ll be reading from the Bible and hearing one of our pastors explain how it relates to life. It’s usually rather entertaining and fun, and you’ll be amazed how much you learn. Our pastors really know how to make the Bible come to life.
Forgive us for our quirks
As a young church, we have quirks. But that’s what you get when you let real people be themselves in the context of helping others. Pastor Jeff is borderline A.D.D., talks about technology way too much, and is kinda hooked on Apple products. Our facility is less than ideal for some things, our resources are limited, and we are still small in attendance.
Nevertheless, we are convinced that what God is doing in our midst will bring great joy and full life to you. You have to see this to believe it.
