These days, it can be nearly impossible to find a counselor you can trust. Many counselors will “treat you” using the latest techniques of psychological research. Other counselors will “challenge you” with hard-core biblical truth.
The first kind of counselor is often required by their licenses and associations to let you determine what you want and then just listen to you as you begin to figure out your own problems.
The second kind of counselor is often ignorant of real psychological science and can sometimes come off as cold and uncaring.
We provide the middle ground by offering pastoral counseling that is both thoroughly biblical and steeped in solid psychological research.
Pastor Jeff Mikels is gifted at helping people get a practical perspective for dealing with the most common problems like working out a financial budget, learning solid communication skills, finding solid self-esteem in the teachings of the Bible.
However, our real counseling ministry is led by Pastor Reggie Alderman.
Pastor Reggie’s Credentials
- A.A. Brewton-Parker College
- B.A. Mercer University
- M.Div. Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary
- He completed additional studies at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY
As a part of his Masters training, he completed a one year internship at the family Life Counseling Center at Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC, under the supervision of a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and family Therapy (AAMFT) Don Mann, D.Min, and additional supervision was by Gary Chapman, PhD, internationally known speaker and author of the “The Five Love Languages” and many other best selling books on marriage enrichment and relationships in general. Reggie is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). In addition, he is a Board Certified Christian Counselor (BCCC certif. # 0053).
